Basilica di San vittore
The projec is dated back to ‘500 and it’s probably a project of
Pellegrino Ribaldi, who was a particular
CarloBorromeo’s architect: on the outline of a previous romanic church is concepted a three-nave structure, which is connected to the
presbiterio, which is dated back to the first-half of the 1500. The
tiburio is surmounted by the
lanternino, has been realized beteen 1589 -1625 by
Giuseppe Beranscaini. In its inside, the other works: works painted in fresco by
Pier Francesco Mazzuchelli, who is called
Il Morazzone by
Giovanni Battista Crespi, who is called
Il Cerano and by
Pietro Antonio Margatti, the two wonder pulpits by
Bernardino Castelli, the main altar by
Bartolomeo Bolla, projected in 1734 and built with the operation of the brothers
Buzzi within 1742.
Palazzo Estense
It has been the residence of
Francesco II d’Este, duke of
Modena and prince of
Verona from 1765 to 1780, then it become propriety of the family
Veratti and sold to the municipal administration in 1882. Rhe buil was edified in a suburban zone of
Varese and it induces a previous built, property of
don Tommanso Orrigani. The park standing back is conceived pressing again the Apustrian model of Schonbrunn and its location has been projected in 1887 by
Pellegrino Robbiani.
