PAVIA

Logo of PaviaThe Province of Pavia confines to North with the province of Milan, to East with the province of Lodi and with the Emilia Romagna (province of Piacenza), to South-West, to West and North-West with Piemonte (province of Alessandria, of Vercelli, of Novara).

Geography

The Province of Pavia is at the south-western part of the region Lombardy. Its territory comprises three different areas divided by the rivers that cross it: the Po divides the rest of the province from the southern hilly zone of the Oltrepò pavese, while the Ticino divides to east the Pavese and to West The Lomallina.

How to arrive:

By car - Pavia is on the A7 Genova – Milan. Few kilometres at south of the city, further the Po, passes the motorway A21 Turin – Piacenza.
By train - The rail net links Pavia with the main city of Lombardy; the nearness with Milan (34 Km ca.) renders easy the link from every part of Italy. The rail station is at West of the city, near the ring road which cross the walls of the XVI century: buses of line link with the historical centre, easily reachable on feet.
By airplane - Pavia is well linked with the two airports of Milan, Linate and Malpensa, from which leave national and international flights and, from Malpensa, intercontinental.
