LECCO
The Province of
Lecco, instituted in 1992 with the commons came off from the province of
Como and from the province of
Bergamo, confines to East with the province of
Sondrio and the province of
Bergamo, to South with the province of Milan, to West and to North with the province of
Como.
Geography
The province of
Lecco by the physical point of view is divided in various zones. There is a mountainous area that culminates in the
Legnone mountain (2.609m) centrally ploughed by the
Valsassina, a lake zone with the
Lario and the minor lakes of
Annone, Pusiano, Garlate and
Olginate, a hilly and plainly area . the
Adda river determines partially the border with the province of
Bergamo.
How to arrive:
By car - At
Lecco does’t arrive the motorway net, but the city is easily reachable from
Como through the S.S. 639 and from Milan through the new road
Valsassina.
By train - The rail net links
Lecco with Milan and
Como; equally linked, thanks the Rail station North, the other cities of the zine. The rail station is in the urban centre, near the place of tourist interest.
By airplane -
Lecco is at about 35 Km from the airport
Orio al Serio of
Bergamo. At about 50 Km from the city there are the two airports of Milan:
Malpensa and
Linate.
