The Castle
The caste is situated on the top og the city and it was built in the XII century to defence the city. Because the fight between
guelfi and
ghibellini it was a destroyed and it was rebuilt till in 1328 a was built aroind it. Fist on the place by it occupated several structures; instead a now days it’s a unique stoned structure. During years it had several functions: military and politic. Now a days it presents on the typical characteristic of the functions it had.
Collegiata santissimi gervaso e protasio
It is situated in the centre of e city of
sondrio and it’s one of the oldest of the Valtellina. It was built in the XI century and in the next century it was already a collegiate. The zone in which the collegiate rises was a neighbouring zone to the city, that in the course of the years had a notable town-planning development: in fact here will rise the dean’s house, the governor’s residence and others buildings. The collegiate suffered several changes during time till it have been completely renewed in its originary aspect, also the bell tower rose in a successive age and it separated from the collegiate. In it lots of paintings are preserved and between them works of
Pietro Ligari, who’s considered one of the most important artist of the area. By the side of the nowe are place six altars projected by
Ligari, which are made of valued marble.
Palazzo sertoli
Situated in central
quadrivio’s square,
palazzo Sertoli is surely one of the most beautiful palaces. In its inside are preserved very valuable works, aniong which The annunciation Day, the ra masterpiece is the dancing saloon, developed on 2 floor in night, which are attributed to
Antonio Torricelli, who made it bigger than in the rality by using particulares perspeciver effects. It is also preservated the
Sertoli’s paintings collection, among the most relevant works there are
Giudizio universale di Michelangelo by
Giulio Campi,
La mandonna con il bambino by
Bernardiono Lanino and some
Pietro Lighari’s paintings. It was the residence of the town municipal untill 1918.
