“SWEET TORRONE”
The nougat, typical cake of the city of

Delle Arti Design Hotel”, previews a day dedicated to the world of the pastry shop and the refreshment, in collaboration with the
Congusto Club and the participation of relief personages who will propose a culinary workshop of creative interpretation of the nougat, in order to let out it from the stereotype that the alloy from always to the cliché of the christmas cake. Instead, near the Hotel Empire, a series of encounter and tastings, opened to all those who wants to know some more on this product and to taste with knowledge some specialities of the best national and international production of nougat. In an area purposely prepared and dedicated to all the city of nougat, these truths will be able therefore to introduce their products and their territory, confronting problematic and experiences and verifying possible ways of promotion of the quality Italian crunchy.

“grasso”
In the 1600's, during a plague in country, was used to ignite fires for the roads in the attempt to purify the air. The bonfire that comes ignited during the Tuesday “grasso” remembers the ancient episode: in public square a hole is dug, in which there is a high tree, surrounded from stacks of firewood. In two previous Sundays they are kept paraded of wagons and masks, exhibitions of folkloristic groups.

Pizzighettone and imprisoned in the still existing tower on the river of the
Adda. Today a regatta of boats with personages in costum is carried out on the river, shows of
sbandieratori, dances and age musics.
The hard cake

The origin of the festivity is tied to the recurrence of
Sant' Antonio Abbot. The hard cake is a traditional cake: it is prepared in the day of the festivity with flour of grain, maize, butter and aroma of mint. To the evening the young people ignite a gigantic bonfire with quintals of firewood, and the puppet burns of one old of straw. Like in many other places, the fire of the old one it symbolizes the winter that must finish.
